The Punjab and Haryana High Court recently held that there is no absolute bar on appointing those acquitted in offences of moral turpitude on the ground of benefit of doubt, to armed forces.
A public interest litigation (PIL) petition has been filed before the Punjab and Haryana High Court challenging guidelines issued in January 2023 on the extraction and conservation of groundwater in Punjab.
The Court passed the order while dismissing the couple's plea for protection. The Court said that the petition was filed only to cover up the illicit and promiscuous relationship.
