Puncak Niaga says not aware of reason for share price jump except for proposed rights issue

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 21): Puncak Niaga Holdings Bhd said apart from its plan to undertake a rights issue of convertible secured Islamic debt securities (CSIDS), the group is not aware of any developments that could explain the sharp rise in the price and volume of its shares.
Last Friday, the group was slapped with an unusual market activity (UMA) query by Bursa Malaysia after its share price surged 51.79% or 14.5 sen to close at 42.5 sen.
In a filing today, the group said it is not aware of any corporate developments, rumour or report concerning its business, as well as any other explanation that would account for the UMA. ....

Puncak Niaga gets extension for issuance of CSIDS

has clarified that the application for the issuance of the convertible secured Islamic debt securities (CSIDS) to the Securities Commission (SC) and the listing application together with the draft circular to Bursa Securities were extended from July 31, 2020 until Jan 31, 2021.
The Company said on July 30, 2020, it was announced that Puncak was still unable to procure the undertakings from the Undertaking Shareholders due to the impact from the COVID-19 pandemic resulting in continuing uncertainties in the financial markets.
Hence, the Board of Directors of the company confirms that it is not aware or currently involved in any other corporate developments relating to Puncak Niaga Group’s business and affairs that has not been previously announced that may account for the trading activity, including those in the stage of negotiation/discussion. ....

KLCI slips 1.31% as investing sentiment sours amid CMCO extension

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 18): The FBM KLCI slipped 1.31% or 21.86 points today, tracking declines in regional peers, while news of the conditional movement control order being extended weighed on domestic investing sentiment.
The benchmark index settled at 1,652.49, with 852 counters in the negative versus 370 that climbed, while 474 were unchanged.
Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced today that the CMCO will be extended in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Sabah till Dec 31, as Covid-19 infections in these places remain elevated. This is the fourth extension of the CMCO that was first imposed on Oct 14 and originally scheduled to end on Oct 27.
The CMCO was also extended till Dec 31 in Seremban and Port Dickson in Negeri Sembilan, and in Johor Bharu, Batu Pahat and Kulai in Johor. ....

Bursa slaps Puncak Niaga with UMA query

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 18): Bursa Malaysia today issued an unusual market activity (UMA) query to Puncak Niaga Holdings Bhd due to the sharp rise in its share price and trading volume.
The group s share price surged 51.79% or 14.5 sen to close at 42.5 sen today, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM190.95 million. It saw some 134.49 million shares traded. The stock has soared 330% from its low of 10 sen on March 23.
Puncak Niaga is a leading regional integrated water, wastewater and environmental solutions provider.
“We draw your attention to the sharp rise in price and volume of your Company’s shares recently,” Bursa queried in a stock exchange filing today. ....
