The police said that sensationalism in reporting these matters should be avoided.  Earlier there was a social media outcry after Indian Youth Congress leader Srinivas BV was called in for questioning. Srinivas had been actively providing assistance to COVID patients in need of beds, oxygen cylinders, remdesivir jabs and other supplies at a time when the pandemic had rendered these essentials in short supply. BJP leader Gautam Gambhir was also among those questioned.
