In an open letter addressed today to Premier Doug Ford, it was announced that beginning on May 1 Batchewana First Nation (BFN) loggers will commence logging in areas outlined in our historically founded documentation and accepted by the courts.
While the letter fails to identify specific areas in which logging will take place, traditional BFN territory extends along the shore of Lake Superior from Whitefish Island in Sault Ste. Marie north to Batchawana Bay and beyond. ....

Pukaskwa National Park listed as a Top 20 post-COVID travel destination

THUNDER BAY  In the anticipation that normal cross-country travel will resume at some point, a Canadian travel website has come out with a list of the 20 best places to visit post-pandemic.
Northern Ontario s only national park is in the 20th spot, but the authors say all the destinations they chose are outstanding places to visit.
They describe Pukaskwa as a dream destination for nature lovers and a thriving natural wonder that preserves the wildest and most scenic stretches of the Lake Superior shoreline, including rocky headlands, golden sand beaches, ancient granite bedrock and stunning vistas at every turn. ....
