Care and Share Food Bank opens Sunny Side Market on Pueblo's East Side

For residents of Pueblo s eastside neighborhoods, access to quality food without personal transportation can be the difference between eating gas station food or having a real meal.
To help mitigate that issue, Care and Share Food Bank opened a new food pantry at 1230 E. Eighth St., using several distinct technological changes to ensure those in need can maintain dignity and receive discreet but important nutrition.
The ribbon cutting for Sunny Side Market was held Tuesday, and the first opportunity to shop at the pantry will be 3-7 p.m. Feb. 18.
A second market of the same design was opened later Tuesday in Fountain. Called Sunny Side Market | Food For All, the markets use several technological aspects to ensure customers can easily walk in, shop and check out without the usually laborious process of confirming a slew of information. ....

Pueblo East, Pueblo Centennial buildings move into construction phase

The construction of Pueblo East s and Pueblo Centennial s new high school buildings is set to move into the next phase.
Robert Lawson, Pueblo School District 60 s executive director of facilities and construction management, presented members of the board of education with the current status of the new high schools construction at a special meeting held Feb. 11.
Lawson told them the design phase is ending later this month and it will now move into the construction phase.
The new buildings will be constructed by G.E. Johnson Construction Company partnered with H.W. Houston Construction. Both companies are set to submit their guaranteed maximum prices to the district next week. ....
