গত ৫০ বছর ধরে গীতিকবি, সুরস্রষ্টা ও কণ্ঠশিল্পীরা নানা অনিয়ম, অবহেলা আর প্রাপ্য সম্মান ও সম্মানী থেকে বঞ্চিত হয়ে আসছেন। এই পরিস্থিতি থেকে উত্তরণের লক্ষ্যে গীতিকবি, সুরকার ও কণ্ঠশিল্পীরা গেল কয়েক বছরে একাধিকবার এক ছায়ার তলে আসার চেষ্টা করেছেন৷
তৈরি হয়েছে বেশ কিছু সংগঠন৷ এবার গঠিত হলো ‘সংগীত ঐক্য বাংলাদে�
