A 25-year-old female pedestrian, who has since been named as Samantha Jayes, died as a result of suicide after she was hit by a van on Middle Street in Burton village at around 1.25am on March 4 last year. The IOPC investigated the matter following a referral from Lincolnshire Police after the force attended an incident involving the same woman during the evening of Tuesday, March 3 last year. Police attended an incident on March 1 involving her walking in the road and she was taken to hospital as a place of safety. She had been found on Middle Street in Burton threatening to take her own life. ....

Photo: Lincoln City Football Club Lincoln City have been given a cash injection of £800,000 by the board, the single most ever for the football club, to protect it from COVID-19 lockdown effects. The Imps’ board of directors invested the large sum in order to safeguard the club from any potential financial downfall as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. It comes after a fairly busy January transfer window for Lincoln, as the club signed the likes of Regan Poole, Cohen Bramall and Max Sanders on undisclosed fees. ....
Boston council buys into public services firm with East Lindsey and South Holland The council would have a 24% stake The three councils would be part of the same company. Boston Borough Council will become a shareholder in a 10-year-old public services partnership company between East Lindsey and South Holland District Councils in a bid to save nearly £350,000. All three authorities will hold meetings next week to agree to Boston receiving 240 shares (24%) in the 10-year-old company the Public Sector Partnership Services. The remaining split would be ELDC 48% and SHDC 28%. The partnership already predicts it will save £502,000 over the next five years without Boston, but this increases to £849,000 with the authority – a difference of £347,000. ....
