MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Murfreesboro Police Department (MPD) Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) has released the name of the driver who was killed in a single vehicle accident this past Sunday, June 4, 2023. On Tuesday, investigators confirmed that 62-year-old Donnie Preston Beasley was killed in the crash that occurred about 10-minutes before 6 a.m. on Sunday morning.

According to Public Information Officer Larry Flowers, the 911 center has received several calls about someone claiming to be a Lieutenant with the Murfreesboro Police Department. The man tells potential victims his name is Lt. Troy Black with the Murfreesboro Police Department.
As the caller continues, he advises advising the local resident that they have warrants for their arrest. The MPD advises that those who receive such a call .
RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. – Charges are now pending against suspects in two Murfreesboro Shoplifting Cases, according to the Police Department. Evidently, the first theft unfolded on November 29, 2022 at the Walmart store on Memorial Boulevard and the second theft happened in December at the Walmart on South Rutherford Boulevard.
