UPDATE 5/10/21 4 P.M. 19-year-old Jeffrey D. Thompson, Jr. was interviewed Friday night and then subsequently arrested by Peoria Police Detectives. Midwest Communications Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood has released the name of the victim. He said 34-year-old Joshua Perkins died Monday at 12:05 A.M. from a gunshot to the torso, which caused internal bleeding. Police have made two arrests in connection with the shooting. 18-year-old Arenza Brown and a 17-year-old juvenile male were arrested on a count each of first degree murder, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and attempted aggravated armed robbery. Brown was placed into Peoria County Jail. The 17-year-old was taken to Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center. The PPD said a total of seven persons of interest have been interviewed.
