RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - After careful consideration and overwhelming community response, Rutherford County Mayor Joe Carr has vetoed the resolution renaming the Kittrell Public Health & Safety Building.
On May 16, the Rutherford County Commission voted in a 13-7 decision to rename the Public Health & Safety Building in Kittrell, the P.E.A.Y. Public Health & Safety Building.
According to the resolution, this acronym was intended to honor David Leon Adams, Clyde Montgomery El .
Rutherford County's first of several Public Health & Safety Buildings is nearing completion on Highway 99 in Rockvale. Rutherford County Commissioner Pettus Read shared some photos with WGNS of the progress. He was joined on his Tuesday (2-7-23) tour by Rutherford County Fire Chief Larry Farley.
Read says Middle Tennessee Electric energized the transformer for service to the building as completion gets closer.
The facility, and others like it across the county, will be fully staffed, 24-ho .
Rutherford County, TN—Rutherford County Fire Rescue (RCFR) seeks to hire 30 individuals to assist with filling positions for the County’s new Public Health/Safety buildings to be opened over the next year. The department has options for uncertified recruits as well as certified firefighters looking to make a lateral move.
