City to add public art beautification structure to Rails to Trails
The city of Amarillo’s Rails to Trails project will soon be getting a new artistic addition with the help of the city’s Beautification and Public Arts Advisory Board.
The city is currently looking for individuals to complete a gabion public art installation at the northeast corner of Plains Boulevard and Western Street through RFQ 03-21. According to a news release from the city of Amarillo, a gabion is a fence-like structure which can be shaped in many different ways and can be filled with rocks, concrete, sand and soil for use in landscaping as well as other applications. ....
