Purdue President Mitch Daniels on Friday (April 23) announced two senior leadership appointments as the university continues to position itself to achieve strategic initiatives, advance in Purdue’s core areas of strength and respond to national and international need. “Having carefully selected targets for Purdue’s major new investments, it’s equally important that we put our best people on the job leading those initiatives and producing results,” Daniels said. WEST LAFAYETTE – Purdue Trustees adopted five of Purdue s Next Moves Friday, ways for the university to continue forward as part of its five-year, $260 million strategic investment. Those five next moves, which came with accompanying presentations Friday, include: Plant Sciences 2.0, National Security and Technology, Purdue Applied Research, Transformative Education 2.0 and the Purdue Equity Task Force, which has had several presentations and updates in previous Trustee meetings. “We believe we ve been thoughtful about this, we believe we ve been strategic,” Purdue President Mitch Daniels said. There are so many possibilities that could have made this list, but again we wanted to excel, and that requires concentrating resources, management, attention and all our assets, all those things will make the most difference in advancing our missions. ....
