PESHAWAR: A meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mahmood Khan was on Tuesday told that a total of 621 developmental projects out of a total of 800 would be completed by the end of this financial year.
The progress on the third quarter of the current Annual Development Programme (ADP) was reviewed during the meeting, said an official handout.
Chief Secretary Kazim Niaz, Additional Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir and administrative secretaries of provincial departments were present there.
It was informed that funds to the tune of 124 billion were released for the third quarter and 62 percent of funds were utilized against the released amount so far. ....

KP Govt to Establish 20 New Colleges in the Province
Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mahmood Khan, issued new orders at a meeting for devising a district-specific feasibility report for setting up 20 new degree colleges.
Participants of the meeting included provincial assembly members from southern districts, administrative secretaries of concerned departments, cabinet members, Shah Muhammad Wazir, Hasham Inamullah, Zahoor Shakir, and other officials.

KP PWDP okays Peshawar-DI Khan Motorway

PESHAWAR: The Provincial Working Development Party (PWDP) on Monday approved the 360-Kilometer Peshawar-Dera Ismail Khan Motorway project which would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs276 billion. Two tunnels including Dara Adamkhel of 5.6 km long and Banda Daud Shah of 1.6 km long would also be built under the project.
The motorway project would connect southern and merged districts with the provincial capital, reducing heavy traffic on the Indus Highway. The interchanges would facilitate people of Peshawar, Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Lakki Marwat, Tank, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan districts.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan had approved the project a few days back after a meeting with the elected representatives from the southern districts. ....
