The silent epidemic

This is against a backdrop of 1 in 3 women worldwide experiencing physical or sexual violence in their lifetime. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, this silent epidemic of violence against women and girls is expanding, and not getting nearly enough attention.  As the 16 days of Activism against Gender Based Violence (GBV) comes to a close, I would like to reflect on what we have learned, and what we can do to step up our efforts in protecting and empowering our girls and  women in West and Central Africa. ....
