PPV to boost vaccination


SHAH ALAM: The UiTM Shah Alam vaccination centre (PPV) will increase its capacity to inoculate 1,500 people a day in two weeks’ time, says its deputy vice-chancellor (academic and international) Prof Dr Roziah Mohd Janor.
So far, around 6,000 people, of whom about 10% were senior citizens, had been vaccinated there since it started operations on June 21, she said.
“Our daily capacity is around 720 vaccinations and this will increase to 1,500 a day in two weeks’ time when we start the second-dose inoculations,” she said at a press conference at the PPV yesterday.
Dr Roziah said the vaccination centre operates from 9am to 4pm and dispenses the Sinovac vaccine. ....

KUALA LUMPUR, March 8 Malaysia reported 1,529 new Covid-19 cases today, the lowest the number has been this year and continuing a downward trend in infection rates since the government lifted the movement control order for all remaining states last week.
According to his post on Twitter, Health director-general Tan Sri Noor Hisham Abdullah revealed that Selangor took the top spot with 726 new cases. ....
