CSPAN Senate EPW Committee Suspends Rules To Advance EPA Nomination February 3, 2017

We will not allow it to obstruct. As i stated yesterday this committee has conducted an extremely thorough and fair process of reviewing attorney generals pruitts nomination. That includes hearing of length, number of kwegs and timely responses. It is unprecedented to delay for incoming president to this extent. We had an election last november. The people spoke and now it is time to set up a functioning government. That includes a functioning epa. To do that this committee has to do its work. So at this time i ask for a motion to suspend rules 2 a, 4 and 8 of the rules of the environment and Public Works Committee for the duration of this business meeting. I so move. Is there a second . BLOOMBERG With All Due Respect March 24, 2016

On the democratic side, despite his deficit, sanders has close the polling gap with clinton. They are in a statistical tie nationally. Clinton beat donald trump and ted cruz, but she loses to john kasich. Sanders, like clinton, beats trump and ted cruz in a hypothetical contest, but unlike. Linton, he beats john kasich and yet, both sanders and kasich are getting pressured to leave the race. White isnt that breaking through . This is going to be a dream for you, im going to speak as little as possible because my voice is gone. But i will say, electability is an argument that does not resonate much with voters. They all say they will elect a nominee, but what they care more about is can people get things done, what are their ideologies, their passions about issues they clear about . Not about the abstract question about who will win in the fall. Where the nominee is is likely to be electable. Questiondoes beg the of why clinton is doing worse than sanders. I also wonder white kasich is ....

CSPAN Key Capitol Hill Hearings March 25, 2016

Isis is a predator on that human misery and they will continue to do that. Especially in europe. We have to be thinking much more longterm, unfortunately, about how to deal with the masses, the scale of the refugee crisis, and confront that. Because what we end up with is a bunch of refugee camps where kids have been out of school for 10 years. There is no prospect for your children to have a better life. We are creating a situation in which isis can have an easier time radicalizing communities. Host what about the recently struck deal between europe and turkey. Does that help . Michael i dont know how much it helps. To me, we are looking at the margins. I think the europeans are in a difficult position as far as the policy perspective and from a human perspective. What is calledt for, whatever else we are going to do in syria and iraq, we have to leave the world in confronting the scale of the crisis and making sure that we dont waste a generation in the middle east and we dont hand t ....

CSPAN Issue Spotlight On Supreme Court Nominees April 1, 2016

Sort of timing which has become standard in modern confirmation process. Indeed, in american history, only one attempt to push through september or october confirmation was the failed campaign to approve fortiss no president , 1968. Mr. I cannot believe anyone would want to repeat that experience in todays climate. Moreover, of the five justices confirmed in the summer of an election year, all five were nominated for vacancies that had a reason before the summer had began. August justice griers confirmation was for a vacancy in the court that was more than two years old. As was the july confirmation of Samuel Miller in 1862. Tus mr. President , more relatives with the situation we could be facing in 1992 is this statistic. Six Supreme Court vacancies have a tiered in a summer or a fall appeared in the summer or a fall of a president ial election year. And never, not once has th ....
