AGARTALA,: The civic body polls of Tripura has been postponed till February 27. The same was informed by a notification issued by the secretary of the state urban development department, Kiren Gitte.
Gitte has also ordered the appointment of administrators to the urban local bodies, from the date of dissolution of these bodies. Most of the civic bodies in Tripura will end their tenure in December.
The 20 urban local bodies consist of one Agartala Municipal Corporation, six Nagar panchayats and 13 Municipal Councils. The charge of the administrator of Agartala Municipal Corporation will be taken by the West District Magistrate. On the other hand, the sub-divisional magistrates will look after their respective local bodies in the State. ....

Defence Ministry spokesperson Colonel Devender Anand said at about 5 p.m. on Saturday, Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing with small arms and shelling with mortars along the LoC in Kirni and Malti sectors in Poonch district. Indian army retaliates befittingly, the spokesman said. Pakistan violated ceasefire in two sectors of the LoC in Poonch district on Friday too. Since the beginning of this year, Pakistan has with impunity violated the bilateral ceasefire agreement signed by the two countries in 1999. KOHIMA: The Nagaland government on Friday said that a Union Home Ministry s (MHA) notification has declared NSCN (K), all its factions, wings and frontal organisations as an unlawful association under sections of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.
A senior Nagaland Home Department official referring to the MHA s recent notification said that since September 2015, National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Khaplang) has been involved in 104 violence incidents killings of seven security forces personnel, six civilians and abducted 75 civilians. ....
