pelley: also in boston tonight is anna werner. people there are being urged to stay home this evening, and soon they won t have much choice. reporter: public transportation in boston will stop at midnight, somethingl that s created a planning nightmare for massachusetts general hospital. nearly half the hospital s 25,000 employees use mass transit to get to work. really the public transportation system being shut down is a very, very significant problem for us. reporter: emergency planning administrator david reisman says many employees won t leave thees hospital and will bed down on cots set up here. others plan to stay at nearby hotels. the hospital treats an average of 60,000 patients on a normals day. administrators say they learned from the last big storm in 2013 that brought more than two feet of snow and caused three deaths in the boston area. so every employee of the hospital received an e-mail last night advising them the storm is coming and what we re doing to prepa ....

O usd. this fremont high school senior says change can t come soon enough. they say the latest attempts won t work. you guys aren t scientists. therefore, do not experiment with our education. reporter: fremont high and the four other schools have gone through a revolving door of educational makeovers. we have had a different schedule every year. reporter: the district says these schools even get 40% more money than higher performing schools. but nothing work. castlemont high and its east oakland neighborhood are still known as the killing field. and enrollments have gone down from 800 students to 250. the district is open to charters and other organizations to take them over. we are not satisfied with where they are now. and this is an affirmative step to say that we as a district will ensure that these schools are successful. reporter: critics say it s a simple fix. invest in these failing schools. students ....
