Altercation. what the state needs to do is go back to the beginning, what happened prior to the altercation, and then you p because, jeffrey toobin, that was one of the most effective parts of the prosecutor s closing argument yesterday, that this profiling of the a young 17-year-old kid, he s walking back from a convenience store, yes, he s wearing a hoodie, but why did why did george zimmerman even begin this process, if you will, of following? well, that s obviously a huge question in this case. one of the things i thought it was so interesting about this closing argument, he took the exact same evidence as the prosecutor good about george zimmerman s background and put it in what he thought was a ....

Not necessarily identify with trayvon martin. or, as we heard from bernie de la rionda, they may not identify with what you could argue is their star witness, rachel jeantel. do you think that s a concern? is that the right way to read that? i think they re being very careful here with their phrasing to not make it that issue in front of this jury. and just look at the facts and the evidence and what they ve presented and base the case on that. john guy s prosecution, we re taught as prosecutors in order for a jury to believe in your message, they have to believe in the messenger. and he stood there with such conviction, you could tell he really believed what he was telling these jurors today. and when he talked about that one particular issue, they ve used the word profiling a number of times in this trial. without using racial profiling. but the words profiling. these jurors know what that means. they know that when they say zimmerman profiled trayvon martin, he didn t profile hi ....

With racial profiling. they charged him with criminally profiling trayvon martin, not even getting into the divisive issue of race. so when the defense does these things about saying black males had burglarized their community, it s almost as attorney parks is saying, it s a subtle suggestion that it s racial. and we try to continuously say that he profiled him for something. we don t know why, but for some reason trayvon was an f-ing hunk and an a-hole and he didn t know this kid from adam. at all. he assumed incorrectly. and trayvon martin had to pay with his hive for his incorrect assumption. one other point that came out is at various times we ve seen them try and portray trayvon as some young, black thug, right. and so there was a picture that was admitted into evidence that ....

Consistent with the story that he was on top of him and beating him. that will be a key piece of evidence, they will rely heavily on dr. di maio s testimony, saying he was reasonably in fear of danger. that particular football has been back and forth across the field so many times i m not sure the jury is even going to be able to sort out who they think was the screaming one. and lisa, the defense will presumably want to stay on the fight as much as they possibly can. because it is only within the moments, whatever that is, minutes of that fight that the justification for homicide can exist. yes, here is the best defense argument, you know what? george zimmerman probably did make terrible assumptions of trayvon martin, he probably did profile him. that was a big mistake, he shouldn t have done that. but it was not illegal. he is not on trial for making assumptions and profiling. ....

Second-degree murder. reporter: that george zimmerman should go to prison for profiling, following, confronting and shooting the unarmed teenager last year. why does this defendant get out of the car and he thinks that trayvon martin is a threat to him? why? why? because he s got a gun. he s got the equalizer. reporter: with zimmerman s and martin s parents all in court for the first time since day one. [ bleep ] they always get away. reporter: the prosecutor said zimmerman sized up martin as a criminal during a call to police. i would submit to you he uttered it under his breath and that itself indicates ill will and hatred. for a second straight day. he s saying that armpits how does he get the gone out? reporter: the state s life-sized foam dummy was thrown into the mix. [ inaudible ]. do you see where he s pointing to, where he s grabbing, where he has his firearm? reporter: with the prosecutor questioning zimmerman s account. this was never an easy seco ....
