Profiling and how folks are being stopped and treatment and such. so while we don t know much yet, this is a first step. and so while one chapter is closing, this is start of a new one. but meanwhile, darren wilson the officer who shot michael brown, is not implicated? that is right. again, after a grand jury decided not to indict officer wilson back in november there was little expectation. now the bar for federal civil rights charges is extremely high. right. prosecutors have to prove intent, he was targeted because of the color of his skin and that is a hard bar no matter what. he resigned and that is something thing people were calling but until there is systemic change in ferguson and in st. louis county folks are still going to be pushing and asking and demanding for change. and so far this is one kind of big step by the federal department of justice. trymaine lee, thank you for joining me. and i appreciate it. ....

Some e-mails that were used as evidence of this racial profiling and discrimination. right. that s exactly what they found. they went through the e-mail system of officials there working for the ferguson police and the court system. they found some really racist jokes. i ll read you a short one from 2008 after president obama took office. there was an official apparently who e-mailed this joke around. he said president obama would not be president for very long because, quote, what black man holds a steady job for four years? and there s another one, ana, from 2011. again, this is a joke that was making the rounds on the city s e-mail system according to the justice department. it tells a story of how an african-american woman has gone to the hospital in new orleans for an abortion and after she goes back home two weeks later, she receives a check for $3,000. she called the hospital to ask ....
