But the only way you can be a comeback kid is to get off the canvas when you’ve been knocked to the floor. At the moment, Australia is looking like it is down and out for the full count. There were warning signs as far back as April 2020, when Prime Minister Scott Morrison told a press conference: “If they [international students] are not in a position to support themselves, then there is the alternative for them to return to their home countries.”
