The news has led some to question the influence of pro-Israel interests over local leaders as municipalities throughout the United States have employed police departments to repress pro-Palestine demonstrators.

Though the arrests were not as high as others schools, it may have been the quickest and most violent. Pepper balls, stun guns and rubber bullets were reportedly used against protesters.
