Harin Fernando will not be arrested until 14th July; AG tells SC

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Attorney General informed the Supreme Court on Friday (30) that MP Harin Fernando will not be arrested until July 14th.
Additional Solicitor General President’s Counsel Priyantha Nawana appearing on behalf of the Attorney General informed the Supreme Court about the AGs position, when a petition filed by MP Harin Fernando was called today.
MP Harin Fernando recently filed a fundamental rights petition in the Supreme Court stating that there are plans to arrest and detain him.
The petition was called up in the presence of a three-judge bench comprising Justices S. Thurairajah, Kumuduni Wickramasinghe and Mahinda Samayawardena. ....

Colombo (News 1st); Further examination of the 12 Fundamental Rights applications filed with the Supreme Court regarding the 2019 April 21st Attacks, were postponed to the 07th of June 2021.
The FR applications were filed against Former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando, Former IGP Pujith Jayasundara, Intelligence Chiefs, Former President Maithripala Sirisena, former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, and the Former Cabinet of Ministers for failing to take necessary action to prevent the suicide bomb attacks from taking place on the 21st of April 2019, despite having intel on the attacks.
The petitioners request the Supreme Court to order the Attorney General to file criminal charges against the respondents. ....
