Alison Badgett, a nonprofit and public policy leader with expertise in affordable housing, criminal justice, and public education, has been appointed as the new associate dean and director of MIT’s Priscilla King Gray Public Service Center.
In a new course, MIT students built prototype heat monitors to help Miami-Dade County officials understand where commuters are underserved by their bus network. The monitors can help pinpoint bus stops and lines in need of improvements, such as the addition of shade-giving structures or higher rates of bus service.
