While the Accra Criminal Court ‘5’ was advising complainant Prince Owusu Amankwah to take steps to recover his money for being reckless, it also handed down a six year jail term to the second accused person, Edward Kotey (trader), alias Niiquaye, for fraud related offences.
The court, presided over by Justice Mrs Lydia Osei Marfo also issued a bench warrant for the arrest of the first accused person, one Kofi Owusu Hayford (prisoner), who is currently on the run.
The court’s decision was rooted in the fact that Mr Amankwah, who lives at Labadi and works with Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), failed to do proper checks on Toyota RAV 4, 2010 model, displayed on Tonaton.com before paying an amount of GH₵50,000 to the sellers.
