Zaev is in Athens to participate in the Delphi Economic Forum VI, based at Zappeion Hall.
At their meeting, which was also attended by the Foreign Affairs Minister and Deputy Minister, Athens reiterated its support for its northern neighbour to ascend into the EU.
However, this was contingent to established rules, respect of good neighbourly relations, and the faithful adherence to the obligations set out at the Prespas Agreement the two countries signed in 2018.
On his side, Zaev called Greece “our main neighbour and our strategic partner,” and said that his country “has no other option, as is true of other West Balkan countries, beyond a future in the European Union.” ....

Ambassador Pyatt: Biden committed to raising Greece-US relations "to the next level"

Greece is emerging “as a major technology hub for Southeastern Europe,” said U.S. Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt during a fireside chat at the Delphi Economic Forum VI at Zappeion Hall in Athens on Monday.
The 100-million-dollar investment by computer giant Microsoft for a cloud data center to be built in Greece is “a real game-changer in this area,” noted the Ambassador.
He also praised Greece’s emergence “as a fantastic example of energy transition,” and he highlighted the country’s significant natural resources for wind and solar-powered energy.
Commenting on the trajectory of Greece-U.S. relations, Pyatt noted that U.S. President Joe Biden’s administration intends to continue to see these grow. ....

Thank you very much Ambassador Prevelakis, and Theo, thank you for the invitation to come speak again. I want to say what a pleasure and honor it is to be on the circuit with so many old friends and colleagues. It’s great to see Jim Townsend there and also Admiral Apostolakis who gets so much credit in my mind for laying the foundation for the extraordinary military-to-military relationship we enjoy with Greece today.
I also want to say it’s a real pleasure to have the opportunity to speak to some of the issues that Ambassador Lyberopoulos addressed. There won’t be a lot of daylight between us, so I hope we’ll have some time for questions. ....
