Those of us who consider history to be recreational reading started in on Donald Trump before he had presided for a year. Without the deep dive of a PhD dissertation, we denizens of the cheap seats seem to have a bias toward post WWII presidencies -or so it would appear from the conversations that have sadly become less frequent with the pandemic raging.

After a short hiatus in December, the Schenectady County Public Library Noon Programs return via Zoom on Jan. 4.
The winter “Books Sandwiched In” series, coordinated by Catherine Lewis, will be held at the usual time, Mondays from noon until 1 p.m. All programs are free and open to the public.

we have not operated under judicial supremacy. presidents lincoln, jefferson, jackson, presidents have understood but the supreme court cannot make a law. they cannot make it. the legislature has to make it. the executive branch has to sign it and enforce it. and the notion that the supreme court comes up with the ruling and that automatically subjects the two other branches to following it defies everything there is about three equal branches of government. chris, the supreme court is not the supreme branch and for god s sake it isn t the supreme being. caitlin, it sounds like jerri ann is going to have a long struggle getting mike huckabee to make sense of any of this. it s been interesting to watch. a lot of republicans running for office are looking at the supreme court case as a way to take this issue off the table and move on to things they want to talk about, things they think
