CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - Clemson University’s board of trustees is meeting to approve several items including items including the naming of the softball stadium and the acquisition of a new building.
The board is meeting virtually for its winter quarterly meeting on Friday.
Trustees will also hear a report on the coronavirus pandemic from President Jim Clements, The Greenville News reported.

Dec. 18 (UPI) The U.S. Army and Clemson University announced a partnership to study conversion of Bradley tanks and armored personnel carriers to autonomous use.
The study for the conversion of existing Army equipment to self-driving vehicles is enabled by an $18 million Defense Department grant in the school s Virtual Prototyping of Ground Systems, and a partnership between the U.S. Army Ground Vehicle Systems Center and the Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research, the South Carolina college announced. ....

GREENVILLE, S.C. A university in South Carolina is teaming up with the U.S. Army to create models for self-driving military vehicles.
The research project at Clemson University’s International Center for Automotive Research in Greenville will be funded by a $18 million grant from the U.S. Department of Defense, the university said Tuesday in a news release. ....

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) A university in South Carolina is teaming up with the U.S. Army to create models for self-driving military vehicles.
The research project at Clemson University’s International Center for Automotive Research in Greenville will be funded by a $18 million grant from the U.S. Department of Defense, the university said Tuesday in a news release.
The money will fund a new center, The Virtual Prototyping of Ground Systems Center, that will serve as the force behind the project’s aim “to develop virtual prototyping tools supporting the rapid transformation of U.S. Army fleets,” the school said. More than 60 Clemson faculty members across multiple engineering departments will be involved in the effort. ....
