It was not about preserving slavery. it was about a lot of other things, individual freedom, its history went back to issues that had nothing to do with slavery. trying to make it a racial issue is in today s debate people want to smear you basically and call your defense of the second amendment racist. todd: the author of the book carol anderson, here s her thesis, quote, it was designed and consistently been constructed to keep african-americans powerless and vulnerable. this is a professor at a good college who has been awarded a lot of awards for her writing. how dangerous is it these theories are making their way more and more into our mainstream consciousness? it is terribly dangerous. i believe the second amendment is one of the most important amendments. it allows people to defend themselves and all their other freedoms. her contention in the book is not backed up by a single piece ....
