City reported a total of 534 dengue cases this year. However, figures of the health department recorded only 468 cases confirmed or certified dengue cases. Similarly, a total of 1,800 dengue cases were reported in 2022 while 1,465 of them were confirmed or certified. District health authorities claimed that only 30 percent confirmed dengue cases have been reported this year in comparison to last year. Records also claimed that, “This year, the Sangam city registered 468 confirmed dengue cases (From June 1 to till date) compared to previous year (1,468 cases from June 1 to December 4). Moreover, there was no particular hotspot for dengue in city this year while number of hotspot in previous year stood more than 13. Ironically, the graph of dengue cases was more in city’s posh and semi-urban areas compared to trans-Ganga and trans Yamuna pockets.
