Covid: HC directs Centre to respond to Delhi govt's request for Army's help


The Delhi High Court Monday directed the Centre to take instructions on the communication by AAP government to the Union Defence Minister requesting help of the Army to set up hospitals here with oxygenated and ICU beds to treat Covid-19 patients as well as supply cryogenic tanker for oxygen.
A bench of Justices Vipin Sanghi and Rekha Palli was informed by the Delhi government counsel that the Delhi Deputy Chief Minister has written a letter to Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday with its request for Army s help and it will take a day or two to fructify.
Senior advocate Rahul Mehra, representing the Delhi government, has urged the Centre that it would be grateful if armed forces could run medical facilities for COVID-19 patients with 10,000 beds and also requested the armed forces to provide cryogenic tankers for oxygen supply to the national capital. ....

New Delhi [India], April 30 (ANI): The Delhi High Court on Friday directed authorities concerned to take steps to release the 170 oxygen concentrators seized from the black market by Delhi Police Thursday.
A division bench of Justice Vipin Sanghi and Rekha Palli direction came when it was informed about the seizure of nearly 170 oxygen concentrators by the Delhi Police on Thursday.
Senior Advocate Sacchin Puri, informed the High Court when he was appearing in a PIL entitled as Manisha Gupta Vs. GNCTD filed by advocates Praveen K Sharma and Dhananjay Grover. ....

Petition in Delhi HC seeks to ensure ICU bed with oxygen supply in multi-specialty hospital

New Delhi [India], April 28 (ANI): A petition has been filed in the Delhi High Court seeking to ensure ICU bed for the petitioner with oxygen supply in a multi-specialty hospital.
The petition was filed by Ramesh Khosla, a 78-year-old man who is suffering from multiple health-related issues including hypertension and diabetes, and tested positive for Covid-19 on April 24.
Owing to his old age and medical condition, his health deteriorated considerably and on April 26, 2021, his SPO2 level deteriorated to 70-75 and he needed urgent hospital admission with an ICU and oxygen facility. ....

Upgrade COVID-19 testing infrastructure in national capital: HC to Delhi government

New Delhi [India], April 26 (ANI): The Delhi High Court on Monday asked the Delhi government to upgrade its infrastructure related to testing labs and testing centres in view of the prevailing COVID-19 situation in the national capital.
The court also directed the Delhi Government to ensure that no hospital in the national capital should refuse admission to those patients who are critical with COVID-19 associated symptoms and are in immediate need of hospitalisation, for want of a positive RT-PCR report.
The Delhi Government was also directed to give wide publication to its circular so that people are made aware of the position that hospital admission cannot be refused to any such patient. ....
