Experts say more clinical trials are needed in India for those who’ve exhausted available treatment, and to help establish therapies that work best for Indians. But hurdles remain.

Bengaluru: When Satyam Kumar’s mother was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer in 2018, she went through all the prescribed medicines and chemotherapy at a private hospital in Gurgaon.
