Southern California-based Businessman Vinod Bhindi Assumes Post as Honorary Consul for Fiji in Los Angeles

Vinod Bhindi, a Fijian Indian American successful entrepreneur and businessman in Southern California, has officially assumed the post of Honorary Consul of Fiji in Los Angeles.
Bhindi, the owner of Bhindi Jewelers headquartered in Artesia, California, with four total locations in the U.S. â three in California; one in Georgia â was born and raised in Fiji, emigrating to North America in 1975.
Initially, Bhindi and his family set up shop in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, opening their first Bhindi Jewelers. He said in an interview with the U.S. Fiji Times that during the early years, he would spend more than half the year in Fiji, and the other in Canada. His brothers managed the store while he was gone, he said in the report. ....

The Fijian Diaspora in United States through the Fiji American National Association (FANA) today reaffirmed their commitment to mobilise assistance in support of the Fijian Government’s efforts towards rebuilding lives of communities affected by STC Yasa.
FANA has over the past two weeks contributed nearly $120,000 into the Prime Minister’s National Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation Fund to support the national effort of rebuilding and recovery work carried out by the Fijian Government through National Disaster Management Office (NDMO).
FANA has assured support through a virtual meeting held today between FANA members and the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Prime Minister, Immigration and Sugar Industry and Acting Permanent Secretary Foreign Affairs, Mr Yogesh Karan. ....

Fijians in the United States of America contributed nearly $120,000 into the Prime Minister’s National Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation Fund to support the national effort of rebuilding and recovery work carried out by the Government through National Disaster Management Office (NDMO).
The Fijian Diaspora in United States through the Fiji American National Association (FANA) reaffirmed their commitment to mobilise assistance in support of the Government’s efforts towards rebuilding lives of communities affected by STC Yasa.
According to a statement FANA has assured support through a virtual meeting held yesterday between FANA members and the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Prime Minister, Immigration and Sugar Industry and Acting Permanent Secretary Foreign Affairs, Yogesh Karan. ....

Fiji American National Association (FANA) working in conjunction with Honorary Consul Mr. Jay Singh and Fiji’s Trade Commissioner for North America Mr. Praneet Singh today donated a further $42,000 Fijian Dollars towards the Prime Minister s National Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation Fund.

Mr Abdul Rauf, the President of FANA based in San Francisco mobilized community leaders in San Francisco and West coast area over the Christmas holidays and during this period of severe lockdown as a result of the COVID outbreak. ....
