FREMONT - While some Ohio mothers hoping for a bouquet on Sunday may be disappointed because of a flower shortage, local florists say they have enough flowers but are facing a different kind of shortage.
Lynn Urban, co-owner of Otto and Urban Flowers & Greenhouse, said her store has all the flowers they ordered for bouquets, but they have had trouble getting house plants.
Claudia Grimes, who owns Green Thumb Floral in Wooster, said many stores have had a limited number of flowers for arrangements.
Florida growers laid off workers
Urban said house plants are scarce right now because many Florida growers have laid off employees.
