Dimapur, Oct. 15 (EMN): The North East India Welfare Association Chennai (NEIWAC) called on the Governor of Tamil Nadu RN Ravi at Raj Bhavan in Chennai on Oct. 15. An update from the NEIWAC issued on Oct. 15 informed that the governor was updated about the demographic profile of the Northeast people in Chennai and its suburbs. ‘NEIWAC has requested the Governor to initiate a centre for the study of Northeast India in Chennai and immensely appreciated his positive response,’ the update informed. The governor during the meeting is said to have categorically mentioned about the importance of promoting the Northeast culture and literature outside the region and expressed his willingness to support such activities. During the meeting, a copy of M.Phil. dissertation on the topic, “A Study on a Migrant Christian Community in a Multi-Religious Society of Chennai with Special Focus on the Naga Christian Fellowship Chennai (NCFC),” a research conducted in 2019 by Wapangtoshi, the Preside ....
