Major vaccines landmark at Newtown's Maldwyn leisure centre

More than 12,500 people have received a Covid-19 vaccine within five weeks at Newtown s Maldwyn Leisure Centre.
Freedom Leisure, which runs the sports centre, said up to 1,036 doses were being delivered in just one day.
Gwyn Owen, area manager, said: “It`s been an honour to work with our Powys partners and such a dedicated team as the Covid-19 vaccine is rolled out across north Powys.
My thanks to everyone involved, who on a daily basis are making such a positive difference to all our lives in Powys.”
The sports centre is one of three mass vaccination sites based in Powys that has helped vaccine the county s most vulnerable residents since January. ....
