SOROCABA, Brazil, May 25, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Vale S.A., one of the largest mining companies in the world, has chosen Nextracker to supply its NX Horizon™ bifacially optimized smart solar trackers for the Sol de Cerrado solar project in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The 766 megawatt (MWp) solar complex, which will be one of the largest in Brazil, will help power Vale s mining operations in the Jaíba area of Minas Gerais and will be interconnected to the regional transmission grid. Initial construction will begin later this year, with the project scheduled for completion in 2022.

Nextracker™, a Flex company, announced that it has been selected by Brazilian EPC firm Andrade Gutierrez and developer Elera Renováveis (formerly Brookfield Energia Renovável) to supply 830 MW of its solar tracker technology, NX Horizon™ for Phase I of the Janaúba solar complex located near the city of Janaúba, Minas Gerais, Brazil. When completed, the plant will be the one of the largest of its kind in South America and is scheduled to become operational by early 2022.
