I earned my commission in the United States Navy in October 1999. A year later, I reported as a junior officer on the USS Arleigh Burke, a guided missile destroyer. I was one of four women, all officers, in a crew of over 300. My second ship was much the same: only five of us on an amphibious ship with over 1,000 crew. Women had not been stationed on combatant ships for long and those of us who were among the first found it difficult, particularly in an environment where we were so drastically outnumbered.

Reason we don t hear anything about the flu, is because, since most people are wearing masks, the flu bug has no way of transferring from one individual to another, therefore eliminating the possibility of someone passing the flu bug to others.

My bike was stolen out of my garage a few days ago. Please keep an eye out for a black GT men s Avalanche 29 mountain bike. The bike most likely will be in the South Hill area. If you see the bike, please contact the police department. The bike has been reported stolen. The police have the serial number and can confirm the true owner. Thank you.
