The DeRidder Police and the Beauregard Parish Sheriff s Office have issued a joint release that the combined efforts of the Police Department, the Sheriff s Office, Narcotics Task Force, Louisiana State Police and the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff s office have resulted in all subjects involved in the Wednesday, January 27, 2021, shootings on Post Plant Road in DeRidder being arrested. Devon Daniels was arrested and charged with 2 counts of attempted second degree murder â bond has been set at $300,000. Jaheim Chavis was arrested and charged with 2 counts of attempted second degree murder â bond has not been set at this time. Desmond Coaston was arrested and charged with Simple Battery, Illegal use of Weapons of Dangerous Instrumentalities, and 2 counts of attempted second degree murder â bond has been set at $330,000. ....
DeRidder Police and the Beauregard Parish Sheriff s Office are investigating a shooting incident that occurred shortly after 2:00 p.m. on Post Plant Road in DeRidder. Beauregard Parish Sheriff Mark Hereford stated that upon arrival, Deputies and Officers located two victims. One with possibly life threatening injuries. The victims were taken to Rapides Hospital and to Lake Charles. It is believed that a third victim was taken to Beauregard Health System by private vehicle. Sheriff Hereford stated that deputies and officers were preparing to execute search warrants on a house and a vehicle, that the location was contained and that there is no threat to the public. ....
