According to the Moderna website, the protocol is similar to that of the adults who received a COVID-19 vaccine.
Eligibility:
For children to be eligible, they must be between the ages of 6months and 11 years; they also must be in good health.
Children will not be eligible if they have ever or are currently receiving an investigational vaccine or approved treatment for COVID-19 or have participated in another trial within the past month. Children will also not be eligible to participate in the Moderna kidCOVE trial if they have tested positive for COVID-19 or been around anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 within two weeks before the first administration of the trial vaccine. ....
