Three Week High for New Cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan Recorded Friday

The last, planned daily COVID-19 update from the Ministry of Health featured the highest number of new cases of the novel coronavirus in Saskatchewan in over three weeks.
Friday’s update had 56 new cases, spread over 10 sones, including a high of 13 from Saskatoon, with just 22 recoveries. That leaves 448 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, of which 46 people in hospital. A dozen hospitalised infections are receiving treatment in an I-C-U. The seven-day average for new cases in Saskatchewan inched up to 45. There were no new deaths because of the virus reported Friday.
 
There are 56 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on July 30, bringing the provincial total to 49,940 cases. ....

Saskatchewan's COVID-19 Hospital Patient Numbers Stay Low, But New and Active Cases on the Rise

COVID-19-related hospitaliations may be at an eight-and-a-half month low in Saskatchewan, but new and active cases of the novel coronavirus are rising again in the province.
For the second straight day, there are 43 individuals in hospital because of COVID-19 with nine of those infections being treated in an I-C-U. There were no new deaths for a third straight day. However, for the third time in the last seven days, there are at least 50 new cases reported. Thursday’s 52 new cases, combined with just 16 recoveries, leaves Saskatchewan’s active case count at 412. The seven-day average for new cases of the virus is up to 44. In addition, the province surpassed 1.4 million doses of vaccine administered after 6,019 shots were received on Wednesday. ....

July 28 COVID-19 update: 50 new cases, 51 recoveries, no deaths


The additional 4,562 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered to residents living in the following zones: Far North West, 53; Far North Central, 1; Far North East, 104; North West, 375; North Central, 315; North East, 257; Saskatoon, 1,086; Central West, 193; Central East, 301; Regina, 1,125; South West, 76; South Central, 69; and South East, 441.  There were 166 doses administered with zone of residence pending.
Seventy-four per cent of those 12+ have received their first dose and 63 per cent of those 12+ are fully vaccinated.
