Makabayan bloc wants probe on rising number of teenage pregnancies

Members of the Makabayan bloc have pushed for the conduct of investigation on the increase of teenage pregnancies in the country.
Through House Resolution No. 1571, Representatives Arlene Brosas, Carlos Isagani Zarate, Ferdinand Gaite, Eufemia Cullamat, France Castro and Sarah Elago are seeking a probe, in aid of legislation, on the alarming rise of pregnancies among girls aged 15 and below so that recommendations could be made to address the issue.
The lawmakers said pregnancy among minors is a major health issue, especially for the marginalized sector who have little to no access to family planning methods, health services and other relevant information about reproductive health. ....
