Dec 14, 2020 12:27 PM Every year for the last 25 years Sheilagh Guy Murphy has invited firefighters from the St. John’s Regional Fire Department down to her house to collect toys for the Avalon Mall/VOCM Cares Happy Tree. It’s a tradition that started with a group of friends who would gather at her house and bring donations, and members of the fire department would pop over in their trucks and collect the goods. Guy Murphy says they had to do things differently this year because of COVID. She says instead of a gathering, she and the St. John’s Regional Fire Department have arranged for a drop-off. ....
