Andrés Martín, a double bass player with the Baja California Orchestra, always wished that music would take him places. That dream is about to become a reality literally.
The Buenos Aires-born Martín, who moved to Tijuana 20 years ago, will soon find his name attached to a double bass he co-designed in partnership with U.S.-based Eastman, which produces numerous lines of musical instruments.
In early 2018, Martín said, a representative from Pomona-based Eastman contacted him with a proposal. Eastman, one of the world’s leading producers of stringed instruments, asked him to help them design a double bass. ....
