UPDATE 1-Chile's president will sign into law third drawdown on pensions

SANTIAGO, April 27 (Reuters) - Chilean President Sebastian Pinera on Tuesday abandoned his challenge to an opposition-led bill allowing citizens to draw down a third tranche of their pensions, saying he would sign it into law.
Earlier in the day, the country’s Constitutional Court rejected a bid by Pinera to block the fresh drawdown on pensions, saying it would not overrule Congress, which gave final approval to the project on Friday.
Pinera had also sought to head off the bill by announcing his own version on Sunday night that provided for repayments and taxation on some withdrawals, but members of Congress made clear they would oppose it. ....

UPDATE 1-Haiti's prime minister resigns amid deepening insecurity, political turmoil

PORT-AU-PRINCE, April 14 (Reuters) - Haiti’s Prime Minister Joseph Jouthe announced his resignation on Wednesday amid worsening gang violence and political turmoil in the poorest country in the Americas.
Jouthe, who had been in the role for just over a year, announced on Twitter around 1 a.m. local that he was stepping down, saying it had been an honor to serve his Caribbean country as prime minister. He did not say why he was resigning.
Haitian President Jovenel Moise, himself facing calls from the opposition to step down, shortly thereafter confirmed Jouthe’s resignation. Moise said on Twitter he had appointed his Foreign Minister Claude Joseph as interim premier. ....
