Dhaka University Law and Politics Review (DULPR) hosted a panel discussion titled Looking Back at 50: Environmental Rhetoric to Reality in Bangladesh on the occasion of the World Environment Day 2021. The discussion was hosted by Shahrima Tanjin Arni, Editor in Chief, DULPR.
Justice Md Ashraful Kamal, Honourable Judge of the High Court Division, Supreme Court of Bangladesh presided the discussion as the Chief Guest and Dr. A.S.M. Maksud Kamal, Professor and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) of University of Dhaka joined as the Guest of Honour.

On his first day in office, President Joe Biden quietly implemented new restrictions on US drone strikes.
The temporary measures make such strikes subject to review by the National Security Council, and they have potentially far-reaching implications.
The Pentagon confirmed this week that President Joe Biden has imposed new, temporary restrictions on counterterrorism drone strikes outside of active battlefields, making them subject to review by the National Security Council.
According to The New York Times, which first broke the news, the rules were quietly put in place on Biden s first day in office, as a stopgap measure while his national security team conducts a broader review of US counterterrorism operations. ....

Once one of the world s biggest producers, Mexico has had a sweet and sour relationship with the upstream industry. In my experience working in the Mexican O&G industry, I witnessed the transition of a nationalized industry, once described by Juan Pardinas, former director of the Mexican Institute on Competitiveness, as hermetically sealed and on par with that of North Korea [1], to an industry allowing the participation of foreign investment. It has been quite an experience to witness such a rapid movement in an industry where nothing occurred (from a regulatory standpoint) for more than 70 years.
After so many years of stagnancy, the 2013 Mexican Administration pushed for a quick reform and a faster implementation to catch up with the global industry and call upon international investors.
