The Austin Police Association (APA) filed a petition with the district court to intervene on the lawsuit advocacy group Equity Action brought forth against the City, according to the APA.
Austin City Council will vote Thursday on an ordinance securing Austin police pay and benefits, including an incentive to bring the police union to the negotiation table for a new long-term contract.
Equity Action filed a lawsuit against the city of Austin for not fully implementing the voter-approved Proposition A, also known as the Police Oversight Act.
