Police in Meshoppen said they are on the lookout for Daniel Fowler, 27, of Mehoopany. Fowler is wanted on charges of aggravated assault after a shooting on Tuesday. Fowler s family said he shot a family friend around 2:30 in the afternoon in a barn in Mehoopany. Tina Wells is Fowler s aunt. She lives on the property and heard the shooting. All of a sudden we heard somebody screaming, so we came running out the door, my husband and me come running out the door. He said, he shot me, he shot me, and then we see Daniel walking up the road, Wells said.

Cats left in taped box behind a dumpster in a snowdrift

    MESHOPPEN, Pennsylvania (WNEP) Three cats and eight kittens are sleepy and hungry after a long night in the cold. Police in Meshoppen said the cats were found around 6 p.m. Tuesday off Copper Head Lane, a rural road. The cats were left behind in a snowdrift near a dumpster in a box. It was taped shut without anything to keep the cats warm. “I was mortified. I mean, we all were. We were all crying tears,” Meshoppen Cat Rescue President Paula Foux said. The cats were brought to Meshoppen Cat Rescue to recover, less than one mile away from where they were found.
