India: Police Charge Nearly 500 Priests for Christian Retreat

Police in Kerala, India, took legal action on Thursday against 480 Church of South India (CSI) priests for their role in organizing a retreat that has resulted in over 100 confirmed Chinese coronavirus cases, local media revealed.
The CSI retreat began on April 13 and brought together hundreds of the region’s clergymen shortly before the eruption of what is now considered the world’s worst national coronavirus outbreak. India has been seeing as many as 400,000 confirmed coronavirus cases a day this week and has documented over 21 million coronavirus cases since China failed to contain the Chinese coronavirus in Wuhan in late 2019. ....

Police in Kerala have arrested 11 activists of the ruling CPI(M) for allegedly attacking BJP-RSS workers inside a temple premises.
The alleged attack took place in Palakkad district of Kerala.

Kerala journalist killed in hit-and-run: Driver of suspected vehicle held


The truck was seized from Injakkal in Thiruvananthapuram and its driver, Joy, taken into custody.
Police in Kerala Tuesday arrested the driver of a truck suspected to have knocked down a journalist, killing him, in Thiruvananthapuram.
SV Pradeep (36), a television journalist who had worked in organisations like Kairali TV, Manorama News, News18 Kerala and Mangalam TV, succumbed to injuries sustained in the hit-and-run in the state capital. CCTV visuals showed the two-wheeler he was riding being hit by a truck around 3:30 pm Monday at the Karakkamandapam junction near Nemom.
A police officer told reporters that the truck suspected to have been involved in the accident was seized from Injakkal in Thiruvananthapuram and its driver, Joy, taken into custody. He will be questioned Tuesday. ....
