A cumulative reward of $40,000 from various groups is being offered for information leading to a conviction in the case of a grizzly sow killed last month in Island Park.
An adult female grizzly bear was shot and killed sometime between March 15 and March 23 near the Pole Bridge Campground which also resulted in the loss of her 6- to 8-week old cub at the bear’s den site, Idaho Fish and Game reported.
“The loss of a reproductive female grizzly is a real tragedy,” says regional conservation officer Doug Petersen. “Someone out there knows what happened to this bear and we are asking them to come forward and share that information with us.” ....

ST. ANTHONY Today, five conservation organizations announced a $40,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons connected to the illegal shooting of an adult female grizzly bear in Fremont County near Mesa Falls and Fish Creek.
According to an Idaho Fish and Game press release, a female grizzly was shot and killed near the Pole Bridge Campground in Island Park between March 15 and March 23. The female grizzly died leaving behind a cub. According to Idaho Fish and Game, the cub later died alone in its den. Grizzly bears are protected by both state and federal law with no current hunting season in Idaho. ....

A female grizzly bear was shot and killed in a poaching incident in East Idaho last month, according to a news release from the Idaho Department of Fish and Game.
Fish and Game officials found the bear s carcass lying partially submerged in Little Warm River near Island Park after they received a signal from the bear s radio tracking collar indicating that it had died. It s the third grizzly poaching in Fremont County since last fall. Previously, Fish and Game discovered the bodies of two male grizzlies that had also been shot and killed one in late September and the other in early November. ....

A $40,000 reward has been offered for information in the the killing of a female grizzly bear in Idaho in an area about 10 miles west of Yellowstone National Park.
The Idaho Fish and Game Department on Monday announced the killing of the grizzly which authorities believe occurred in mid-March at the Pole Bridge Campground and also resulted in the death of her 6 to 8 week cub.
“The loss of a reproductive female grizzly is a real tragedy,” Regional Conservation Officer Doug Petersen said. “Someone out there knows what happened to this bear and we are asking them to come forward and share that information with us.” ....

Reward Grows for Shooting of Mother Grizzly Near Island Park
ISLAND PARK, Idaho (KLIX)-The reward amount seeking those responsible for killing a female grizzly bear with a cub near Island Park has grown to $40,000.
The Idaho Department of Fish and Game announced earlier this week the reward is for information surrounding the late March shooting of a grizzly bear near the Pole Bridge Campground, where the animal was found partially submerged in the Little Warm River after being shot multiple times.
Fish and Game said conservation officers had gotten a notification via the bear s collar that it had died. Officers estimate the bear had been shot sometime between March 15 and March 23. When officers went to the grizzly bear s den site they found a 6-8 week old cub that had died as a result of the mother being killed. ....
